I started shooting skeet in Fall'22 for Olentangy Liberty High School in the Ohio State High School Clay Target League. Right from the start, I was NOT a fan of skeet. I guess this is mainly because I struggled, and I wasn't as good at it as I was with some of my other shooting disciplines. I had to remind myself that I was completely new and didn't have much experience shooting skeet so I wasn't going to be great at it right from the start.
With a whole lot of help from my coaches and a little practice, I slowly started to improve. I definitely had a LOT of ups and downs, but in the end everything worked out. I couldn't believe that I ended up placing third in the conference. I look forward to continuing to improve my skeet game and I look forward to participating again in spring'23 .
It just goes to show how much practice, coaching, hard work, and focus that it takes to be successful in all of the different shotgun shooting sports.
For all of you new shooters out there, be patient, listen to your coaches, practice, and stick with it. You can do it!!!
